Briefing the head of government, chairman of the port Vo Quoc Thang said the power plant is designed to have a capacity of 3,000 megawatts and is scheduled for operation in December 2025, at an estimated cost of US$3 billion. During the inspection tour, PM Phuc spoke highly of the preparations for the construction of the power plant, sharing the expectation that the close cooperation between the concerned parties will ensure the project is completed on schedule. Earlier PM Phuc attended the inauguration ceremony of Phuoc Dong Industrial Park in Can Duoc District. Speaking at the ceremony, the PM hailed Long An Province’s efforts in recent years to develop industrial parks to create impetus for local socio-economic development, with economic growth posting an average rate of 9.16 percent during the 2016-2020 period.
